  • ABSTRACT GUIDELINES

    • All abstracts must be submitted in English exclusively via the online abstract submission system https://sprv.info/en/abstracts Submissions by post, email, fax, or any other means will NOT be accepted.
    • AUTHORS – FIRST (PRESENTING) AUTHOR – The first author will be the presenting author. The first (presenting) author is expected to register and pay the full registration fee, attend the Congress and make the presentation.
    • Please provide a corresponding email address of the first (presenting) author. Abstract submission results and abstract-related correspondence will be sent by email to the first author.
    • CO-AUTHOR(S) – A maximum of FIVE co-authors are allowed for each abstract. Type in the names and affiliations as you would like them to appear in any publication.
    • Submissions will be assessed with regard to content and quality.
    • The ASTRACT TITLE must be concise and not exceed 120 characters. Title case (upper and lower case) Do not repeat the title in the abstract body.
    • Abstract format:
      1.  Scientific Paper:  Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. Do not include graphs, tables, images, and references in the abstract.
      2. Case Report: Purpose, Case Presentation(s), Discussion, Conclusion(s).
    • Submitted abstracts would be masked and peer-reviewed by the Abstract Committee.
    • By submitting an abstract, the presenting author agrees to be available to present on the day they are assigned. Accepted authors MUST complete the registration payment to present at the congress.
    • Late submissions will NOT be considered.
    • Presenting Author will be notified of the abstract selection results by email no later than August 15, 2024.
    • The first (presenting) author can have a maximum of 3 submitted abstracts.
    • Define each abbreviation the first time it is used in the abstract by placing what it stands for in parentheses. Example: retinal detachment (RD).
    • It is the author’s responsibility to submit an abstract with correct spelling and grammar and accurate context. The Selection Committee, however, reserves the right to suggest edits the abstract if it has significant spelling and grammatical mistakes or reject it.
    • While AI tools might be used to assist abstract construction, the authors hold all responsibility for content and information.
    • Concise and objective abstracts will be better graded.
    • The submitting author must be prepared to inform if the research was approved by an IRB or equivalent body. If such approval is not needed, the author must indicate that on the respective field.
    • Relevant financial disclosures must be reported, if applicable to any of the abstract’s authors.
    • Successfully submitted abstracts will be acknowledged with an electronic receipt including an abstract reference number, which should be quoted in all future correspondence.     • The PanAmerican Society of Retina and Vitreous Congress holds the copyright to all the materials presented at the Congress.
    • POSTER INSTRUCTIONS

      1. The Poster TITLE must be concise and not exceed 120 characters. Avoid using abbreviations in the title or including irrelevant information. The title must be formatted as follows: initial letter must be capital, except for the minor words; do not underline, italicize or use bold characters.
      2. Posters must be formatted in JPG, PNG, BMP or PDF.
      3. File size must be 1920x1080 px.
      4. Relevant financial disclosures must be reported, if applicable to any of the abstract’s authors.
      5. Posters with a clear promotion of a commercial product will not be considered for inclusion in the meeting.
      6. The submitting author holds all responsibility for ensuring the permission to use images contained in the poster, as well as for ensuring that no copyright laws will be infringed.
    • VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

      • All surgical video abstracts must be submitted exclusively via the online abstract submission system https://sprv.info/en/abstracts Submissions by any other means will NOTbe accepted.
      • Late submissions will NOT be considered.
      • Producer – The person submitting the video will be considered the producer. A maximum of 2 co-producers per video are permitted. Each producer can submit up to 2 videos, while the limit of participation as a co-producer is for another 2 videos.
      • Video producer will be notified of the abstract selection results by email no later than August 15, 2024.
      • Video producers who are accepted for video presentation MUST register for the SRPV Congress. Early Bird rates will not be honored after September 1, 2024.
      • Acceptance of a video invitation constitutes a commitment to register for and attend the meeting in-person. Your video will not be included in the program unless we receive your invitation acceptance.
      • Please provide a corresponding e-mail address of the producer. Abstract submission results and abstract-related correspondence will be sent by email to the submitting author. The submitting author must include contact information for all coauthors.
      • Successfully submitted videos will be acknowledged with an electronic receipt including a reference number, which should be quoted in all future correspondence. If you do not receive the acknowledgment within 24 hours upon submission, please contact the Abstract committee at This email address is being protected from spambots.       • Submissions will be assessed and reviewed through a masked peer-review process and graded regarding content and quality. The Selection Committee’s decision is final.
      • SPRV Congress holds the copyright to all the materials presented at the Congress.
          • VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS

            1. The Video TITLE must be concise and not exceed 120 characters. Avoid using abbreviations in the title or including irrelevant information. The title must be formatted as follows: initial letter must be capital, except for the minor words; do not underline, italicize or use bold characters.
            2. The maximum length of video is 2 minutes.
            3. Videos must be formatted in MPEG or Quicktime (MOV).
            4. h264 compression, do not use DivX compression.
            5. If there will be text or narration, the accepted language is English.
            6. Relevant financial disclosures must be reported, if applicable to any of the abstract’s authors.
            7. Videos with a clear promotion of a commercial product will not be considered for inclusion in the meeting.
            8. The submitting author holds all responsibility for ensuring the permission to use images contained in the video, as well as for ensuring that no copyright laws will be infringed.
